Whether it is fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, or just getting away for relaxation, Marathon is a great choice for your vacation getaway.

Marathon has several fishing charters and dive shops within the City.

Things to do

Public Beaches

Marathon has one of the finest public beaches in the Florida Keys, Sombrero Beach. Sombrero Beach is an easy 2.5 miles from the Marathon Key Beach Club.

The beach boasts beautiful white sand, playground equipment, charcoal grills, and bathrooms. 

And they have outdoor showers to rinse the sand off before you get back into your car.

Turtle Hospital

Marathon is also home to the famed Turtle Hospital, a nonprofit turtle rescue organization caring for sick and injured sea turtles. Their goal is to rehabilitate all the turtles brought in and then release them back into the wild. They do have a few permanent residents who were, unfortunately, not able to survive in the ocean.

Since Marathon is located right in the middle of the keys, it makes it easy to drive to attractions both East and West of Marathon.
